Sudbury Federal Liberals EDA 11.02.2021

This school year has been difficult for many Canadians. Students are being asked to learn in new ways, teachers are adapting their teaching styles, and parent...s are finding ways to keep their children engaged with their schoolwork while they may be working from home. Our government is committed to supporting and protecting students and staff from the challenges of COVID-19. That’s why, last week, we announced the second instalment of the Safe Return to Class Fund, including $763 million for Ontario schools. This investment will go towards supporting adapted learning spaces and remote learning, improving air ventilation, increasing hand sanitation and hygiene, purchasing personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies, and providing health and safety training for staff. Until a safe and effective vaccine becomes available for all Canadians, we will continue to do whatever it takes, for as long it takes, to beat COVID-19 and protect Canadians through the crisis. Today is also Bell Let’s Talk Day, a day where Canadians come together to speak out and talk openly about mental health. Please share the attached shareable and use #BellLetsTalk and Bell will donate 5 cents for every post towards mental health initiatives across Canada. Five years ago today, we opened our constituency office on Durham Street. From this office, I and my dedicated staff processed thousands of passport application...s, solved thousands more EI, CCB, tax and immigration issues, and co-ordinated almost $500 million worth of federal investments into Sudbury. Moving to our new office at 93 Cedar Street coincided with the pandemic, which has presented still more challenges. Il y a eu des difficultés et des défis, mais nous faisons des progrès. As always, we remain a phone call away at (705) 673-7107. Ce fut un honneur et un plaisir de siéger à la Député, et je me réjouis de poursuivre ce travail au cours des prochaines années. See more
