Tis' the season for a bit of Vanilla Chai and not just in a mug. A batch of 20 luxurious cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom bars are curing as we speak. Something tells me I should be making more!

Who doesn't love a little flicker and crackle, especially on a night like tonight? But if you're one of the many who can't tolerate scent of any kind, attractive unscented container candles are hard to find. These handpoured, 100% soy wax candles are poured into attractive, re-purposed containers that you'll want to find new uses for again and again. There are only a few left @thelocalmaker!

Two new bars arriving @thelocalmaker tomorrow. Farmhouse Oatmeal & Orange is our most rustic bar yet. Chock full of colloidal oatmeal as well as coarsely ground oats for scrub, it's scented with bright, fresh orange essential oil. I made it in our usual bar size and in a cake size just for fun. Let me know what you think about the new shape. Clean Slate is not new but hasn't been in stock The Local Maker yet. If acne is your nemesis this bar may soon be your new best friend. A new shipment of t shirt yarn means baskets in new colours are coming your way soon. I think these colours work together in every combination but I really love the navy and emerald together. What combinations would you like to see?

The newest batch of Into the Woods soap after the cut. From subtle lines and swaths of colour to bold strokes and every combination in between, this soap is about the visual as much as the skin pampering properties and scent. Pine, fir, juniper, cedarwood... the essance of all the trees you'd find in a Carolinian forest.

A newly poured batch of Into the Woods soap. I'm always anxious to see what the cut reveals when I use different natural ingredients to colour the soap. Here I used turmeric, wheatgrass, activated charcoal, green clay and spirulina. Fingers crossed!

Just add the sound of running bath water.

A batch of 19 Silk & Scrub bars have come out of hibernation and are ready for their wrappers. These beauties not only get the tough grime from your hard working hands but also pamper them with a dose of rich avocado oil, cocoa and shea butter. Don't even get me started about their herbaceous minty scent!
