NEW 2021 MAPLE "SIGNATURE" RECIPE ... This coming years annual Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm's maple "signature" food has been named. The corresponding recipe bookmark has also been ordered. This years version marks the first year that we have moved away from a dessert styled maple treat to a maple syrup inspired entree. This years version is titled "EVA'S MAPLE CHILI". This is Eva's own homemade chili recipe with a few minor tweaks (maple syrup, maple BBQ sauce and a couple ...other secrets added) ....and yes, we believe it's a home run. If we are able to safely do our "Maple Weekend" on the first two weekends of April we will be offering bowls of this absolutely delicious maple version of chili for your enjoyment. Our recipe cards have been ordered and of course are free of charge here at our Muskoka sugar shack. SUGARBUSH HILL MAPLE SHOP...SEPT 2020. Here's our maple farm shop Labour Day Weekend 2020. We are continuing to serve our loyal customers and many new ones with our porch pick-up program. Even though "Stage 3" has happened we are taking a cautious approach until the results of a "Stage 3" reopening are fully known. This is both for our protection and for all our visitor's that come here. As many of you know by now our Maple Shop visitors are welcome to our door threshold ...only (no entry into the facility at this time) where they can easily see our maple shop with all our available yummy maple products. We have also conveniently moved our product/price boards outside onto our porch for super easy viewing. Unfortunately, our very popular maple tours have been suspended until 2021. CROWNED CREEMEE'S... Maple creemee's have been flying out of Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm all summer long at tremendous rates. Good news travels fast! Thank-you for all of you that have partaken in the delicious dessert....first served in ONTARIO at Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm. From now until Thanksgiving, SBH is offering the "Crowned Creemee" as an added decadent option. You asked for it and we delivered " why not, for those die heart maple syrup lovers". The "CROWNED CREEMEE"... is our regular delicious maple creemee with an added layer of our fabulous syrup crowned on top, maple syrup PLUS, added cost is only $2... until THANKSGIVING, come get yours! At Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm... ...NOT ALL CROWNS ARE CREATED EQUAL.

LIVE EDGE MAPLE... We've milled 40 of the 60 previously tapped maple trees from another sugarbush. As you can see the piles of air drying lumber are getting higher and higher. We have 1" and 2" in live edge or straight cut both with lovely splated patterns. Here we have Eva and Tom of SBH, Kent and son Jacob WoodMizer operators, visitors Kelly-Lynn and Craig from Sarnia, son Max is taking the pic.... Our visitors purchased this lovely board for a behind a couch table. Kelly-Lynn wanted something of a reminder of their family's wonderful time spent here in Muskoka. ...SUGARBUSH HILL MAPLE FARM, "ITS ABOUT THE MAPLE"

MAPLE TAPHOLE LUMBER... A large amount of trees were harvested at a nearby sugaring operation that had been tapped for over 30 years. Sugarbush Hill managed to salvage and purchase over 60 of these tapped sugar maple trees in log stump form. Maple trees that have been tapped show a very interesting and decorative wood pattern when cut into boards. The taphole and resulting staining columns in these boards continue to tell the maple syrup story even though their useful sap-...providing life is over.. Taphole maple lumber is scarce and hence very expensive. Dining room tables, counter/bar tops, charcuterie boards, decorative wall displays are some of the varied uses of taphole maple lumber. Many of these boards may well be used in any further expansions at Sugarbush Hill. Some boards will be made available for sale, 1 and 2 inches, with lengths in the 8-10 ft range (nominal sizes). OMG...I will be trying this in the next few days...however...with wild blueberries and our maple creemee ice cream....so so decadent!!
