Lets talk about T1D Imperfections If you’ve been watching and reading my stories, i’ve been talking about the imperfections of diabetes. Social media can make us hard on ourselves as diabetics, seeing perfect blood sugars and well perfectly managed T1D lives. But we don’t always see those crazy highs and lows and messy T1D days. As diabetics we know it can’t always be perfect but seeing these perfect lives make us compare our lives to theirs. I’m a person who wants to sho...w those flaws and inspire others to fix them together. Together we can all make T1D goals and achieve them! I know my first goal is to not go high after breakfast, so I got in touch with my diabetes team at CHEO to fix my morning ratios! We can change our mindsets, if we see good sugars on social media we can look at it as a way to motivate ourselves to make new T1D goals! We need to normalize that diabetes is hard and it won’t always go perfectly! Diabetes doesn’t defeat us, we defeat it and together we can!
