Music is a passion of mine that has helped saved my life. CHOCLAIR's new single #OneDayAway hits me in ways that are hard to explain in words. Give it a listen + like + share ... This track deserves a Juno!! The JUNO Awards In 2017 I had the opportunity to bring Choclair to Didsbury Alberta. A small ass town in the middle of rural Alberta for an event in a 100 year old hotel. He didn’t have to do that show, but he did and it turned out incredible. I will never forget it. I have never told him but I guess I am now - that shit saved my life. Literally. Less than one year prior I had recovered from another near fatal suicide attempt. A common trend throughout my life. I have attempted suicide more times than I can count on my hands. But this time something was different. This time something really stuck with me. I was set on fire with setting goals. Real goals. Goals that would push me in all areas of my life. One of those goals I set for myself was to promote my very own hip hop show. For many many years I wanted to promote my own show with Choclair. Through my friend Dan Leveille (the man is a legend I highly suggest you follow him!) Maybe now was the time ? Who knew, but I was going for it. It was having this goal of putting on a show, facing so many challenges to pull it off that allowed me the opportunity to turn my life around. It forced me to come to life. It forced me to focus on making things happen, it forced me out of my shell, to make contacts, start making arrangements, It forced me to get creative, challenging my mind. It forced me to get up, to do something. It prevented me from falling into another dark and evil place. I had a goal and I was going for it. Extremely humbling experience for me. It was an amazing feeling when Choclair jumped on that little flimsy ass stage I built but he surfed that thing like a Rockstar and lit up the Didsbury Inn Hotel with energy you cannot describe in words. Forever changing my life. Choclair and Dan showed me that if I really do set a goal, remain focused, work hard and push through all that negative shit you really can pull just about anything off. Shortly after this event is when I reached the goal of #RacingToSaveLives Where You Are today Is a reflection of everything up until now. What you do today is a reflection of where you are going. I will forever be grateful for Choclair for allowing me that opportunity. I look forward to when we can do it again- Only Somewhere cooler Thank you for being such an inspiration in my life.
