Nomex Bib Overall Benefits For Your Interest Nomex bib overalls are a common type of work wear that is often chosen in place of full body coveralls due to the ease of flexibility and movement. Bib overalls are basically pants with an upper chest area that is very useful for holding tools, offering a bit of chest protection and helps to hold the pants up in place just where you like them to be. As the Nomex fabric is lighter weight then the flame resistant FR cotton fabric and... most styles do not meet the HRC 2 category which is a rating from 8 to 24 cal or ATPV. However a cal rating of 8 and above can be achieved in the Nomex fabric and I will show you where you can get these shortly. The great thing about being able to achieve this is that the Nomex fabric is so much lighter then FR cotton and is a big advantage in the spring and summer months. So how do you select the correct Nomex bib overalls? First off I would suggest looking at the design of the overalls as in the stitching, available pockets and whether it has safety striping or not. Concerning the arc rating of the overalls you will want to get the data on what type of g protection is required before ordering your work wear. You can check with your safety manager, or contact your employer, to find out the level of protection you should be wearing on the job.For instance the overalls shown without the safety striping above have a 5.6 cal rating compared to the safety striped bib overalls shown that have a 10.2 cal rating. As promised following is a very good selection of Nomex Bib Overalls that you can view and when you click through each selection you can view the different options that each style offers and what would be something that provides the benefits you prefer. Nomex Bib Overalls Selection http://www.coverallsale.ca/shop/product-list.php I will provide you with a detailed description of the styles of overalls that I feel are different from each option to give you an idea of what choices are available in my next article.

Create Your Own Emergency Plan And Be Prepared When a disaster strikes it doesn’t care if you are at home, in your vehicle or even at work. Having emergency survival kits at each location will help protect you wherever you may be and will also provide additional emergency supplies if you can get to them.... What exactly is a survival kit you might ask? Well it is a backpack or nylon bag that contains the essential elements required to help you survive for a minimum of 3 days. The contents among other things are food, water and shelter. When thinking about preparing for emergency situations the first step is to first become familiar with natural disaster risks in your community. Consider how you will respond to emergencies that are unique to your region, such as an earthquake if you live near the coast and a fault line or a hurricane if your area is subject to such disasters. Safety Shirts and Your Well Being Every year there are injuries and deaths that are contributed to not having adequate safety shirts in limited visibility areas such as roadside construction sites with moving traffic. Construction workers and highway maintenance personnel are in a vulnerable position because they are subject to risks such as of not being seen by passing motorists and large equipment operators. For this reason there is no excuse in the world for not wearing hi...gh visibility clothing such as safety shirts in bright colours like fluorescent orange and fluorescent green. This is why safety standards such as the CSA Z96-09 Class 2 , Level 2 and the ANSI/ISEA 107-2010 Class 2, Level 2 are in place and enforced to help workers and their company safety managers ensure the safety of those involved in high risk areas are protected from the dangers involved with the job. http://www.coverallsale.ca/shop/product-info.php

FR Clothing Compliance Do you choose FR clothing based on compliance or protection? Selecting your FR garments needs to be based on. Being compliant may not be what you think as there are different requirements as to the intensity and duration of a flash fire and your specific job hazards. It is a good policy to provide FR garments that are NFPA 2112 certified but in order to meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.132 and NFPA 2113 your flame resistant garments have to provide protection for... the specific hazards that you are exposed to. So the question is. Are you complaint? You will find the following information very useful: http://www.worksitetoday.com/fr-clothing-hazard-assessment/

Module construction has it's advantages depending on the situation and places significant pressure on both the procurement and design schedules. Beyond quality management and improved completion time, modular construction offers numerous other benefits to owners. Removing approximately 80% of the building construction activity from the site location significantly reduces site disruption, vehicular traffic and improves overall safety and security. As owners and designers look ...for more sustainable designs for improved environmental impact, modular construction is inherently a natural fit. Building in a controlled environment reduces waste through avoidance upstream rather than diversion downstream. The following interview with Ed Sparks, Vice President, Manager of Construction Services, Gulf Coast, WorleyParsons provides some useful information on Ed's point of view on this subject. ATPV And EBT Ratings For Arc Rated Clothing The Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) is defined as the arc incident energy required to cause the onset of second-degree burn. The higher the ATPV assigned to the garment the more protective the fabric. Sometimes a fabric will actually break open before it transmits enough heat to cause a second-degree burn. In that case, you’ll see an EBT, or Breakopen Threshold Energy rating. Wool FR Coveralls Bodyshield Wool coveralls made in the Bodyshield fabric are provided especially for the aluminum industry in smelters such as Rio Tinto Alcan and Alcoa to provide molten metal splash protection and flame resistance. The wool allows the molten aluminum to roll off the fabric which results the metal not being able to penetrate the fabric and also reduces the heat transfer to the person wearing the coveralls. The options of having a velcro closure on collar a...nd 2 hidden metal buttons in upper front this allows for a tight fitting closure in the neck area. This along with the benefit of a front zipper opening and leg zippers at the leg bottoms for easy on and easy off and a telescopic upper back makes this style of aluminum shedding coveralls quite a comfortable design. High visibility reflective trim (FR) as yellow, silver, yellow on the arms, lower legs and an X on the back provides the safety striping for low light work conditions. Hi-Visibility Polyester Wicking Long Sleeve T-Shirts For our Canadian customers we would like to announce the addition of a new style of 100% polyester wicking traffic safety t-shirts. The 776 style made by Big K has a breast pocket and 4" 3M reflective tape. Meets CSA Z96-02 Class 2 Level 1 in the colour black and CSA Z96-02 Class 2 Level 2 in the colours orange and lime yellow.... This style of shirt is self wicking which allows moisture from sweating to be absorbed and pulled away from the body which results in helping keep you cooler in the heat of summer. The very small holes for ventilation provide a softer more comfortable feel and one is not subject to having nipple burn. Some of the men experience this issue as the larger holes in the mesh shirts can produce a rubbing irritating feeling against the skin and therefore can be painful. Due to the significantly higher cost of flame resistant (FR) clothing you might want to repair your PPE more often then disposing of the garments. Small simple repairs of FR garments are possible as long as certain guidelines are adhered to and this enables the small repairs to not become large repairs. When in the field or each day as one puts on their their flame resistant clothing it is a good idea to inspect the items for wear and tear. It is best to deal with these weakn...esses in the fabric by sewing on patches made with the same type of material or darning small holes with FR rated thread. #flame resistant (FR) clothing Workrite puts out a good information article on this here: http://www.workrite.com//what-is-the-best-way-to-repair-f/

Safety Management Strategy For The Future Safety hazards and accidents are not only very bad for the person being injured but it also looks bad on the company that is responsible. There is always the unexpected no matter how many good safety practices a company has implemented. When workers get injured for reasons like not wearing the proper safety equipment due to possibly to the PPE being uncomfortable to wear this posses quite a problem for the company. What happens is the...y now not only have an injured person to deal with but are also short an employee that they will have to hire or pull off another job to fill the void. As businesses and companies grow along with the accidents that go with it the one benefit is that we learn along the way. What is most important is that the reasons why people get hurt must be documented and safety procedures put in place. In the past it was common practice for employees not to report all their injuries as they did not want lost time accidents. What happen is that because of this practice we do not learn form our mistakes. If the reason for injuries or near misses is due to safety equipment PPE that is uncomfortable to wear or there seems to be a shortcut people can take to get a job done easier these issues have to be brought open and investigated. This I believe is the future of implementing a better safety culture is through open communication.

Pacific Northwest LNG project On Hold Due to concerns with the global market for LNG as it stands at this point Petronas has indicated that construction costs are too high to make a final investment decision. There is also the issue that similar projects in the United States are tending to being approved quickly when it comes to government approvals and environmental issues. There are also a number of other factors that need to be worked out which just ads to the decision to ...delay the final investment decision. Canada is going to have to get moving on the processes and help out the companies that are willing to do these large proposals in regards to the LNG Industry.
