Here's the News! . To celebrate the season, on Dec 13 we are turning our farm stand into a Holiday Market featuring a variety of products handmade by local talented artists and makers. . COVID safety protocols will be in place with masks and social distancing required. This is a great way to support our community's local artist and makers during the holiday season. Well it looks like the frost is likely coming tonight which means the end of our flowers for the year. I have packed my cooler with as many beautiful blooms as I can for this weekend's farm stand. If you are wanting one last summer flower bouquet, head over to the farm stand from 10am-12 tomorrow, but also keep your fingers crossed that the frost doesn't kill everything and flowers can be around a little longer. This week flew by and I forgot to let you all know that preorders for this weekend's flowers are open. . This time of year the flowers are putting on a last push of amazing colour as the weather cools down and the coming frost is inevitable. Once the frost comes, flowers around here will be done for the season and it will be time to put the gardens to bed until next year. It is all part of embracing the seasonality of this place. It makes seasonal flowers that much more precious than those you can get all year round. . I am done my emotional end of season flower post now. We made it to the August long weekend (it's actually September )! The flower fields are still going strong even with this cooler weather. Last night I was out in the dark harvesting dahlias when the sky opened up and poured on me. I may have been soaked but I got the dahlias! . The farm stand will be full of flowers including those dahlias tomorrow between 10am-noon.
