The Summerside Rotary Club has continued to find ways to serve its community during these unprecedented times. Recently, the Rotary Cub of Summerside donated non-medical masks to Kensington Intermediate Senior High school. #ServiceAboveSelf
Last Tuesday, one our newest members, Zenaida Saldanha, gave her classification talk to the club. Zenaida’s journey has taken her from Mumbai to Dubai to PEI! She and her husband, Glenn, own and operate Z&G’s Specialty Fusion Cuisine Inc. in Summerside. Zenaida is an excellent addition to the club and a definite asset for the community!
Recently, the Rotary club of Summerside - in genuine Christmas spirit - donated 10,000 masks to the Prince County Hospital. The Rotary Club also provided non-medical masks to a few local high schools including Kinkora Regional High and Three Oaks Senior High. The Rotary Club of Summerside wishes everyone a safe holiday season and hopes that everyone in these unprecedented times has a Merry Christmas!
THANK YOU for making the annual Rotary Club of Summerside's used books sale another outstanding success raising over $14,500.00 A big thank you to Anna MacDonald, who co-ordinated the sale and who was an indispensable resource to us again this year. To our community partners, we appreciate you: Slemon Park Corporation, The Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club, The Guardian, The Journal Pioneer, ADL and Sobey's. Your contributions to the sale were instrumental in its success.... Every year the sale depends on Rotary and community volunteers' generosity, all of whom give countless hours sorting the books and setting up the book sale. Sorting the books and getting them ready for display is a huge job, but your help made it easy. Last but certainly not least - Thank You, Thank You - to the many book lovers who donated and purchased books again this year. Until next year, cheers!
It was a delight to have one of our own Rotarians tell us about his time in Japan. Tim Hockin took a leave of absence from teaching at Three Oaks Senior High school to accompany his wife Nao back to her homeland. It was an opportunity to spend time with her family and allow their daughter Rina to experience, embrace and learn about her heritage. His adventure is a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing, Tim Hockin, and it's good to have you back
Today’s the last day for our book sale. We’re open until 5pm. We’ve had great success so far but there are still lots of books available. Come on out to Slemon Park!
