The International Winter Institute for Business Management is running in Victoria this January. This 3 week program is the equivalent of 6.0 North American credits and focuses on Service Management and Social Entrepreneurship. Students take part in a two day field trip that includes a full day skiing with equipment and lift pass. Other activities that students can choose to join are curling, indoor rock climbing and attending a professional ice hockey game. Last night I presented to the amazing masters students at Hochschule der Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe in Bonn, Germany. We always have the most wonderful group of students come from this school for the Summer Graduate Business Studies (SGBS) program. I look forward to welcoming the new students for 2020.

Visited the University of Zürich today that looks over Lake Zürich and the old city. This partner university of UVic dates back to 1833. I look forward to welcoming their students to our summer business programs in 2020.

No it’s not Hogwarts School of Magic! This is the stunning University of Glasgow. I had a wonderful visit yesterday and learned loads about this historic university. It was great meeting the students interested in joining ISIBM this summer and having a mini-reunion with these two lovely lasses! Big thanks to Dave Jones for his hospitality.

It seems very fitting that I am beginning my recruitment trip of Western Europe in one of the most important university towns, Oxford. What a beautiful and historical place it is. It was pretty amazing to walk the same streets as some of the greatest minds the world has seen. Tomorrow I will be visiting The University of Warwick. Looking forward to seeing my first English university.

The ISIBM programs have come to a close for the summer of 2019. The exams are finished, the certificates handed out and the friendships made. The August ISIBM group had a fabulous evening of pizza and games. What a great night to have before the final exam and group presentations. I'm sure that the pizza and exercise will help fuel your bodies for these last 2 academic projects. Good luck to everyone! I'm sure you will do great!

This is a legitimate "Canadian traffic jam" that I witnessed this weekend. Every Canadian knows that you never rush a Canadian goose!!

The August ISIBM students have been very busy with classes and some fun extracurricular activities. Last week, students hiked Mt. Doug and then visited the Sidney Night Market the next evening. In between the studying and classes, they do manage to have a whole lot of fun!

The August ISIBM whale watching adventure for 2019. No whales but there was a lot of other amazing animals including seals (babies too!), California sea lions, Alaskan sea lions, cormorants, and even a rare elephant seal!

The July International Summer Institute for Business Management (ISIBM) graduated this weekend. What an incredible 4 weeks! Everyone worked hard and experienced some incredible things. I am sure that the friendships that were made at UVIC will last for many years to come.

Check out this unbelievable video from one of our students. The ISIBM students went whale watching this weekend and saw this incredible humback whale breach. The humpack whale population in the Pacific Northwest is getting stronger every year. We need to continue to protect our oceans so these stunning animals continue to make their summer homes here. #onceinalifetime #ISIBM #UVIC #explorecanada
