At the heart of Hollywood Boulevard, near the famous walk of fame and the Chinese theatre, just across El Capitan, and right inside the Hollywood & Highland shopping mall, we were pleasantly surprised to spot a tiny sign that said "Japan House". - We presented ourselves at the gate of the highly guarded 5th floor, and at each security checkpoint, the guards stared at us and said : "... Japan House? This way !". - Inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find a small white roo...m with a line of bookshelves, containing Japanese classics of literature, fiction, manga, tourism, etc. We were told that they also had a gallery on the 3rd floor, that recently hosted exposition from Japanese artists such as Urasawa Naoki. - The Japan House is an organization focusing on promoting Japanese culture. They have 3 sites in the world. Los Angeles. London. São Paulo. Contributors include companies such as Mitsubishi, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airlines, and Sumitomo. - We had never heard of Japan House before, but it's always great to see efforts in order to promote Japanese culture.
