Dear Members, The Government of Alberta has announced the path forward with respect to the gradual easing of public health measure restrictions. Unfortunately, this means that it will be quite some time before hockey could get back to normal operations. Below is the "best case scenario" timeline with the activities that would be allowed at each stage:... 1. Starting February 8th one-on-one training and school Phys-ed bookings are allowed. Participants must remain 3 meters apart including at entrances and exits. Sessions must be scheduled and no drop-ins or groups are allowed. We are currently following up with the government to determine exactly what this means for hockey activities. 2. On March 1st if hospitalizations are below 450 we could move to stage 2 where children’s indoor sports could start operating. 3. On March 22nd if hospitalizations are below 300 adult team sports could begin. 4. On April 12th if hospitalizations are below 150 other sporting events could begin. Our hopes are to get the initiation team on the ice for march. If anything else changes once our government partners have a chance to review the new public health order we will certainly let you know. The details of the "path forward" can be found here.
