Football? Here at the museum we know a little bit about what it takes to get it to the finish line. Half-time is over and we’re lined up ready for the 4th quarter...we’ve got the ball. QB looks fresh and the kicker is ready on the sidelines. It’s anyone’s game but we know everyone will come out the winner when this game is done. Stay safe everyone. We look forward to sharing the big reveal with you soon. (Special thanks to Todd and Jessica Dalke and Veronica Flinn Pana for helping with the paint this weekend)
Some interesting points to ponder on a beautiful winter day. The province says museums can open in Stage 3. We can't wait to see you faces! https://www.nytimes.com//arts-health-effects-ucl-study.html
This looks like so much fun! Bring your kids to the museum for photos with Santa, deliver them for an hour of painting while you shop locally. Pick children up and head home. What a fun SUNDOWN IN SUNDRE event! Thanks Arlet for organizing this. Please contact Arlet to book your art times.
Our amazing volunteer Lance has been busy building a backdrop for our upcoming Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We look forward to seeing everyone on December 4 (4pm-7pm), December 5th and 6th (11am-4pm).
We had such a fun time scaring everyone this Halloween. Thank you to our volunteers Jim, Holly, Robin, Jaime, Jane, Annette, Lance, Ethan, Gavin, Adrienne, Barb, Bruno, Paige, Aimee, Kaleigh, Cheri, Caroline, Jason and event coordinator, Donovan. A special thank you to the make up artist Chantal Miner Thorburn @gypsiejunky

We have objects from the Eagle Valley, Westward Ho, Sundre, and James River girls club and WI on display at the museum. I wonder if anyone can relate to the feeling of isolation these pioneering women felt. Feel like sharing YOUR story with us? Message us or e-mail - we are actively looking for covid stories for an upcoming display.
Thank you Sundre Dental Clinic for the generous donation you made last month! Have you seen our small dental display in our gallery yet?Thank you Sundre Dental Clinic for the generous donation you made last month! Have you seen our small dental display in our gallery yet?
We loved this project and know some local artists have contributed to the work. We will let you know if we get any to sell in our store. In the meantime, pre-orders are available via the link below. https://paintthebarnred.ca/
When the director has a birthday and the volunteers bring sugar, you know it’s going to be a great day. Thanks Veronica Flinn Pana and Robin McCartney for the yummies - complete with candle! #wow #birthdaysurprise #volunteersrock #needfood #grantwritingcravings

It’s a great day for a wedding! Congratulations John and Holly.
We had to get a sneak peak at our new solar light outside the museum entrance. A lovely place for guests and volunteers to sit and relax. Thanks to the FortisAlberta grant we have been installing a bunch inside the village. Haven’t seen them yet? Come visit! Open Thursday - Sunday.
Did you know the SDHS is not only a non-profit but a charity as well? Yup! We hold both designations. We rely on admissions, donations, and grants to stay operational. This donation opportunity below looks fantastic. We would love your financial support - we can even provide tax receipts.
