Have you heard of the game Omnikin? Most students who come to our program have never heard or played it before. It is a game that teaches communication and team work all while getting the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity for teenagers! Here we have students from the Grant Park Newcomer to Canada program having a blast while playing!

The UWinnipeg Diabetes Awareness and Education Program is up and running for the 2019 fall term! We are excited to have students from the Grant Park Newcomer to Canada program and students from the Build from Within program at WAEC!

We are looking for volunteers! This volunteer opportunity provides the following: - hands on experience with fitness activity program design, implementation and evaluation - participation in health promotion and chronic disease prevention program... -hands on experience with facilitation of physical activity and nutrition education/cooking for specialty programming such as mental health/anxiety and New Comers to Canada Your responsibilities as a volunteer include showing up on time with a positive attitude, encouraging participation of the students/leading by example, helping with set up and take down, as well as facilitating activities and lessons if you wish to use this opportunity to add to your resume. Each session includes a healthy and delicious snack which volunteers are encouraged to enjoy as well. A letter of reference based on your participation is provided to all volunteers if they wish to have one.
