It’s been a long time coming but I am so excited to share the news that I have qualified for the 2020 medallion club. This award is given to agents that qualify in the top 10% of the entire Fraser Valley 3,691 Agents). Congrats to all those who made the list! After spending yesterday really letting it all sink in I wanted to take the time to really enjoy how far this journey has taken me. When I first started real estate at 19 I wrote down my goal of medallion on a piece... of paper and have kept it by my bedside for 10 years. Seeing the reminder everyday of my goal has driven me to the point of obsession but I know it’s also guided me to stay on the path to get me to where I ultimately wanted to go. What makes this even more special was exactly 1 year ago I returned from my holiday vacation to realize that not only had I finally reached my long term goal, but due to an administration error my last sale was not reported in time and I missed my goal by .5. I fought with all my might to get this corrected but no avail and had to live with the regret of what should or could have been. To say I was deeply upset was an understatement. I couldnt come to grips with the realization that even tho I did everything I possibly could and patiently waited 9 years that I would not earn the designation I had worked so hard for. Looking back now this was life simply testing me. I’ve learned that even when you do everything the right way, life will often test your will and resolve. After spending much of the new year feeling sorry for myself I picked back up and committed to earning the goal I knew I had and ultimately would achieve. That’s the funny thing about life you never know how/when but it’s always got a greater plan for you. So when things go wrong try and find the reason why it could be a blessing rather than a curse. Fast forward 12 months later here I am reflecting on a goal that took a decade. Not everyone can become an overnight success and the only real competition we ever truly face is against ourself. I take great pride in my path and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
