Sunshine Coast StrongStart Centers are opening Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020. We ask that families pre-register by visiting: https://early-learning.sd46.bc.ca/strongstart-/strongstart/ Sign up for a day and time you would like to attend until the winter break. We will be playing outside for the month of October. Dress for the weather. Safety precautions and protocols will be in effect. All programs are free of charge and snacks will be offered at every session! We’re so happy to welcome you back!

StrongStart facilitators will be working in kindergarten classrooms for the first few weeks of school, and we are excited to open StrongStart on September 29! More details such as the format, timing, and schedule will be posted next week!

Yesterday we explored Burnett Falls in Sechelt. Families and children connected, shared, and explored the natural wonders and delights of a summer time coastal trail. Next and last Tales and Trails for this summer is Thursday, August 6th 9:30 am at Cedar Grove Elementary with Jane!

StrongStart ‘Tales& Trail’s’ has been beautiful - in our last session we explored a stream, crunchy arbutus leaves, fluffy feathers from geese and we tasted salal berries. Next Tales and Trails will be at Burnett Falls in Sechelt on Tuesday August 4th at 9:30 am.

Families came out today from Gibsons, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay and Pender Harbour! We saw snakes, dragon flies, and a beaver lodge! What a fantastic day of connection with nature and family and making new friends. Next Tales and Trails is at Winegarden Waterfront Park in Gibsons on Thursday, July 30th at 9:30am.

Today was full of painted turtles So many we couldn’t count. A surprise visit to see Andrea to listen to stories and sing songs. Owl feathers, snakes under a boat, an eagles nest and pretty flowers. So much fun sharing these natural adventures together. An awesome community of families and friends joined in. Tomorrow, July 28, we will be in Smuggler Cove Park at 9:30 am!

Oh so much fun today in Langdale... Story in a stick shelter, dandelion picking, monkey bars, great conversations and exploration of all things wild and natural. Next Tales and Trails is Monday 9:30 am in Madeira Park area at Tyner Park.

A magical walk and talk in the woods today. Discovering lush carpets of green moss, animal dens, foraging hucklberries, listening to stories and singing songs while sitting under huge Douglas Fir Trees. Summer adventures continue. Join us Thursday, July 23rd 9:30 am at Langdale Elementary for a walk through Maple Park.

At StrongStart ‘Tales & Trails’ today we had lots of fun at John Daly Park! What time is it Mr.Wolf, soccer, stories, songs and finding golden treasure were just a few highlights from today. We will be at Hidden Grove Park tomorrow (July 21) at 9:30 am. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to the families who joined us today on our walk through Cliff Gilker Park! We saw a moss covered log that looked like a bear, a big banana slug leaving a slimy trail, and so much more! Reading the book ‘Stick and Stone’ was also a highlight! What fun shared together! Let’s do it all again next Monday in Pender Harbour at Francis Peninsula Marine Park at 9:30 AM! Hope to see you then!

It was wonderful to see everyone today at our StrongStart ‘Tales and Trails’ walk! On our walk we painted some rocks, and we left a few for you to find! Clue: You might find a painted rock down by the water below Pebble’s restaurant near Snickett park in Sechelt. Post a picture if you find any of the beautiful rocks we left, or leave us a clue where we might find one of your beautiful rocks!
