Family Caregivers of British Columbia invites us to take their online survey on the impact of COVID-19 on caregivers. The survey will take roughly 15 minutes of your time. The results will be used to advocate for family/friend caregivers with health leaders and policy makers. They will present evidence about the invaluable role caregivers play in our healthcare system, both provincially and nationally. As well, they will be listening carefully in order to respond to our needs through our programs and services. Please add your voice by Dec. 18th. Click here to take the survey online (all input is completely confidential): https://leger.decipherinc.com//selfserve/542/vw25002_001aa#? If you aren’t able to complete the survey online, you can call our Caregiver Support Line (1-877-520-3267) and we will help you by telephone.

Feel like your dollar doesn't go as far? You're right. "Shareholder value" - the concept that making profits for shareholders is the only value that matters - has deliberately created wage stagnation over the past four decades. https://www.forbes.com//how-to-fix-stagnant-wages-dump-th/

"Had the more equitable income distributions of...1945 through 1974... merely held steady, the aggregate annual income of Americans earning below the 90th percentile would have been $2.5 trillion higher in the year 2018 alone. That is ...enough to more than double median incomeenough to pay every single working American in the bottom nine deciles an additional $1,144 a month. Every month. Every single year." https://time.com/588/50-trillion-income-inequality-america/

The music we love connects us to our youth and ourselves. "Alive Inside: Music & Memory" is an amazing documentary, not only about music a nd dementia but about the history of nursing homes ("a shotgun wedding between hospitals and poor houses") and the culture of aging in North America (hide it away - and how to make it better. Highly recommended! Watch the trailer here: https://www.aliveinside.org/film

When Nick Harvey posted a clip of his dad Paul, who lives with dementia, composing a beautiful piano piece on the spot based on four random notes, the post went viral. And he did it again when he and Nick were interviewed live on British TV. https://www.mirror.co.uk//piers-morgan-speechless-pensione

Psychiatrists find that treating dementia patients via computer, during the pandemic, leaves a lot to be desired. Telehealth is only barely better than nothing for those with cognitive and social impairments, who may not understand that it's a medical appointment at all. https://www.psychiatrictimes.com//treating-dementia-patien
