SCRD PORTS - GAMBIER HARBOUR DOCK UPDATE Inspections of the float and dolphins were completed on October 1 with further work October 2. Temporary measures to stabilize the float have been put in place. Pending a further inspection early next week and posting of signage, SCRD expects to be able to open the float for limited service. A notice will be issued when the gangway/float is reopened. SCRD will provide more information about repairs as it becomes available. ... Effective TODAY - October 1 - all water conservation regulations are lifted. Regulations are put in place from May 1 to September 30 in order to conserve water and meet high demand during hot and dry summer months. SCRD Ports Update Gambier Harbour Float September 30, 2020 The shoreward main float was damaged in the storm on September 25. SCRD staff and contractors are working to assess the extent of damage to the facility and develop repair options. Next step is to have a contractor conduct an assessment of the facility, including underwater dive inspection, to help inform next steps. ... The Gambier Harbour Dock facility will remain closed to moorage until further notice. Alternate public docks are available at West Bay and New Brighton. BC Transit and the Sunshine Coast Regional District are informing customers of a seasonal service change effective October 13, 2020 in the Sunshine Coast Transit System. Starting Tuesday, October 13, transit users in the Sunshine Coast will see adjusted service schedules on all routes to align with BC Ferries seasonal schedule changes. Effective October 1, 2020, mattresses will once again be accepted at the Pender Harbour Transfer Station. Due to COVID 19, customers will be required to stack their mattresses inside the shipping container without the help of staff. Thank you for understanding.
