National bestselling author Kate Harris will be at the Gibsons library Wednesday, May 16, to do a reading and slideshow on her 11-month journey by bicycle from the Black Sea in Turkey to the Himalayas in Tibet. Her new book is called Lands of Lost Borders: Out of Bounds on the Silk Road (Knopf).
Have you explored the new Wormy 150 Trail? A 3.5km circle route around Wormy Lake, built and made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, the Government of Canada and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast. #sunshinecoastbc
On New Years day, railway enthusiasts Peter Hews and John Clyde installed the new interpretive sign Loco-Motive Trail - Ties to the Past. A big thank you goes out to Dave Lasser from the Community Forest for sponsoring the sign and Rand Rudland from the Sargeant Bay Society for sign design. http://sctrails.ca/stwp/2018/01/02/loco-motive-trail-sign/

The soft grand opening for the Wormy 150 trail went on in spite of the weather (poring rain) last Sunday. Attending were representatives from our partners in this project - the Rotary Club of Sechelt, the S C Community Foundation, S C Community Forest. We will have an official grand opening once all the kiosk and interpretive signs are installed sometime in the spring.... http://sctrails.ca/stwp/mapsandtrails/wormy-150-trail/
The Trails Society made an SCRD Grant In Aid application with a local trail builder for a bike trailer and mesh for the trails. It is already being put to good use! Thanks to the Sunshine Coast Regional District for supporting our local trail heros!

The Wormy Lake Walking Path Trail is really starting to take shape. Getting the trail to this point has taken a little longer than originally anticipated but the trail should be fully completed mid-July . http://sctrails.ca/stwp/2017/07/04/wormy-150-trail/
