Good afternoon families, friends, and community members, We are welcoming our families and community members to join us on December 5, 2019 for the KAIROS Blank...et Exercise. This event will be held at our Centre (609 18th Street, Fort Macleod), and we will begin the evening with a meal at 6 p.m. **Because we are providing a meal, we ask that you please RSVP myself or Kathy BY NOVEMBER 30, 2019** If you have never attended a Blanket Exercise before, you may visit this link to learn more: https://www.kairosblanketexercise.org/ As described on the website, the "KAIROS Blanket Exercise program is a unique, interactive and participatory history lesson developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers and educators. Developed in response to the Report of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples in 1996 which recommended education about Canadian-Indigenous history as one of the key steps to reconciliation the KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) covers more than 500 years in a 90-minute experiential workshop that aims to foster understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Since its creation, the Exercise has been updated several times to include new information such as the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation final report" Being both emotional and intellectual, the Blanket Exercise is a powerful experience; we hope to see many of you there!
