Hello STS Walkers, Ready to hear the crunch of snow underfoot? I walked at Sutherland dog park today, weather wise it will be about the same as on Monday. Once you are amongst the trees it was just fine. So I plan to walk on Monday, please join me. As Phyllis says, ‘there’s no bad day to walk, just bad clothing’. So bundle up, if it is too cold we can always cut it a bit short. Today the Cedar Waxwings were busy cleaning up some berries and the Redpolls were all puffed u...p so you could not miss them. I attached a picture of one. Walk starts at 9:00, Sutherland dog park from Central Ave turn on the Beef Research Road. Bring a beverage for after. See you there, Loretta PS I am now done 40% of the Ring of Kerry Challenge. Two trees planted. See more

Hello STS Walkers, Today on my walk, a lovely red fox was enjoying the day in Stonebridge park too. He had a tail that would be the envy of any self respecting fox! He was more interested in a big white rabbit than the folks admiring him. Judging by his size and coat he was an excellent hunter look out bunnies and neighbourhood dogs! The trails are polished to a sheen and snow is forecast for both Sunday and Monday so change of plans. I was hoping to do Cranberry Flat...s but we will leave that till I can check those trails. Instead let’s meet at the Holy Family Cathedral off Attridge, in behind the church, is a parking lot on the park. From there we can walk the loop that was the light tour then head to the Zoo. It doesn’t open till 10:00 though. I have heard the pathways are good for walking. Entrance is by donation. NOTE: time change to 9:30. This week only. Bring a beverage and see you there at 9:30. In keeping with the announcement from our Chief Medical Officer and Premier, our November and December "Sew Much Fun" events are being cancelled. Here’s hoping we can all do our part to make the data related to COVID trend downward over the next 6 weeks. It would be wonderful if we all felt safe/secure enough to resume our gatherings in January!

Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan-Saskatoon Chapter 19.10.2020

Hello WalkersLet's try Wednesday! The kids have had a glorious day and other tomorrow! We have no where to put this much snow so everyone piled it in the middle of our terrace and the kids had a ball. I could easily drive my car round and round that pile but not a chance I could make it to the main road. Chuck and I walked to vote, it was treacherous. We passed every type of vehicle stuck including the fire truck! The city is asking people to stay off the road and I think we should comply. I am leery of the hill going down to Rotary Park so let’s switch to the weir for Wednesday at 9:00. I know it is Remembrance Day but the service is cancelled. Wear your poppy. Hoping this works for you, Loretta

Hello STS Walkers, How many years have we walked without cancelling a single one? Well this is it! I just took a peek outside and there is no way I am getting out of my driveway tomorrow morning and I doubt that you will be either. Let’s postpone till Tuesday Nov 10. Rotary Park, 9:00, bring a beverage we will have lots to talk about : ) Loretta

Hello STS Walkers, I (Loretta) have been waiting for a ‘sign’ that would tell me what to suggest for a walk tomorrow. One minute I think, Mall Walk, but I hate to start that yet! So, I will suggest we embrace the weather and walk outdoors but somewhere that we don’t have to blaze trail. Probably downtown is our best bet. Let’s meet in Rotary Park off Sask Crescent. I go in on Eastlake Ave. Walk starts at 9:00, dress warm. The temp is supposed to be -16 but sunny. We shall see welcome to winter! See you there, Loretta
