To my beloved customers, it’s to my regret to inform you I will be on lock down for next two weeks. Due to the location of where I conduct my business it is under quarantine for two weeks as of today (my father returning from Montana). I will be working hard to catch up and get as much done as possible before end of year. If you have any concerns or questions let me know. I am able to bring work in and hold at my place of residence for the time being. At these times it’s b...etter to be safer then sorry for everyone. My apologies and hope to be back at the grind soon. Jessie Chapin
Quick clean up and ready for home.
Getting excited to see the final turn out of this Brookie! Pictures don’t do colour justice in this lighting!
Sneak peak to what’s being worked on on the bench this weekend
This was a back breaker. Definitely one of our widest spreads we have had the pleasure of mounting. Not all cap mounts have to be alike! Our customer was leaning towards bare bone when he had seen our elk antlers in office. This moose cap has a nice loose black velvet around the cap with zero form giving it a nice natural feel. This mount will also include a name plate on the bottom with the date of the harvest and the width in inches! ... Hope to see more of your amazing trophies! :)
Our royal purple is running out get it while the supply lasts!
Not all trophies have to be big! Sometimes it’s to preserve the memories of something special.
This skull was brought to us disintegrating before our eyes and very yellow. We were unable to save what was left of the skull. We had just the skull cap left. The client was really dead set on a deer euro down we worked to the best of our abilities and attached the old skull cap to a artificial deer euro. Over all our client was very happy.
This was a MASSIVE project. These moose antlers were found as sheds and man were they heavy. It took lots of reinforcement and some building up of the artificial skull. All and all it was a fun project and turned out amazing.
Our first moose euro we did. This was a learning process on its own
We took a break from a busy week of work to celebrate this little bugs birthday!
So this was part of today’s project. I was given this euro which I thought I could help fix. It was dropped off yellow and odd looking. Without me having a look my father decided he would help me with the whitening process. He felt terrible, as the skull had completely disintegrated to almost nothing. We let the customer know (who was aware that it was already doing so on the wall). We worked to help find something that the customer would be happy with. We offered to do a cap... mount or find something that he would be interested in. The client decided he wanted a artificial skull mount. With covid this made it difficult as our suppliers are in the states and wouldn’t ship to Canada. After some serious research and hard work we were able to find something. Down fall the natural skull plate needed to be cut down to fit the artificial so the space in between the antlers is now narrower. Much like our artificial moose euro we did there was lots of building up with bondo and sculpting and filing it down. We then finished it with airbrushed paint to hide the bondo and fix and coloured the disintegrated parts of the antlers. We always strive to do what our customers envision for their trophy. While bondo dried and set, I worked on our next exciting project we will be sharing! STAY TUNED
Stock is back up on our trophy hangers for this falls bucks!
It’s order day! New exciting things coming! Can’t wait to share
New way of mounting your European mounts! Instead of flat against a plaque you can now give it some extra character. You could add the bottom jaw with mouth open as well. If you have a envision we will always try and make it possible here at Superior TaxiderMiss.
It official I’m on Google!! Need to update some stuff when in service. But I need your help! I would love your feedback and reviews to help spread the word of my business thank you for all your support!!
The back bushes keep overflowing with berries!! After already having a frozen ziploc full in the freezer we made this batch into jam. Parker highly approves!
Realized we never posted last years Father’s Day gift! (Probably because we were keeping it a secret). One year this past April we lost our beloved lab Opal. It his ya all very hard and is still difficult to this day knowing she isn’t here. By chance I had saved the tail of the last bird that her and Tom Got opening day out at camp. I was able to snap a photo of them coming back both proud. Father’s Day was approaching and I found the tail in the freezer. I had this incision... of incorporating a tail over their picture. It came out better then I hoped! It was incredibly special to the heart and can be enjoyed for years. If you have a envision of your special memory and want something different we will always do our best to make it come alive.
No filter needed nice drive with the kiddos to deliver a birthday mount
Got some gorgeous chocolate brown velvet in to make some stunning antler caps it’s been a long time waiting for this to come in stock, so we bulked up!
A few euros done this week and another on the way as well as in hopes to finish a MASSIVE moose shed project and few cap mounts. African mounts are on their way home so need to clear the shop to make room!
Finally playing catch up and trying to have as much done before Christmas!
Little miss continues to struggle with failure to thrive and is admitted again in hospital. There’s talk of having her go to London at this point as they are out of ideas here. It has been completely exhausting trying to balance all worlds equally. Again my apologies to my customers I’m desperately trying to get as much done as possible while trying to care and be the glue for my family
This piggy is about to wee-wee all the way home this week !
Apologies to my waiting clients... I have had some major complications through out my pregnancy which has landed me in hospital since the 16th of Sept. on the 18th I was induced and forced into labour, bringing a beautiful baby girl into the world. That being said there were complications to continue afterwards for both of us. With her being premature she had to fight to build her strength up. I have been battling one health issue after another and continue to be hospitalized. This being said I havnt been able to finish some pieces and have fell rather behind. I appreciate the patience and understanding and can’t wait to be back on my feet and back in the game. Thank you for all those who have sent wishful thinking and prayers for us. We hope to be home soon.
Dads final day of hunting in Africa. Many long days trying to get the grey ghost of Africa. Apparently kudu are extremely hard to get. This will be my first African shoulder mount!
Squirrel was outside all day giving her grief... i guess she’s determined he’s now in the hole
Baby bush chickens everywhere!! Almost hit these little guys one to many times on our adventure!
For those of you waiting to see our very special Father’s Day gift... here it is! As some of you know we had one of are furry family members pass on. After her extremely tough battle with a very aggressive cancer she had taken a turn for the worst over night. Tom and Opal got their first bird together (solo) while our family was out camping on opening day. I was lucky enough to snap a photo as she came trotting back very proud and happy with Tom walking behind her. I also de...cided to save the tail of the bird. We have had the tail laying around for a while. With Tom at work through this difficult time it dawned on me to make something super special for him in remembrance of her. Took a bit to figure out how I was going to do it but had the perfect envision of what I wanted to do. It honestly turned out better than I could ever hope for. On the back we put : Opening Day Tom & Opal Sept. 15. 2018 12:31pm See more
