SuperStars Bowling League 17.11.2020

So as I mentioned in our previous post about "Subject to change"... It looks like we will NOT be able to start bowling on September 9th. The alley did NOT get their exemption from the 50 people in the building rule that they were hoping for. They are trying to come up with a revised plan as to what we can do, but as it stands right now it does not look like we will be starting next week. They've asked us to delay the start for one week to give them time to put something together, so we're hoping to start on the 16th. As we hear anything more we will let you know.

We met with the Alley tonight to discuss what this year will look like for bowling, and wanted to keep you all informed. As of now BOWLING IS A GO! and the times will remain the same: Wednesday Nights, 6:30 pm practice, 6:45 pm start... Bowling starts Wednesday, September 9th Of course we must preface this with "Subject to change", but as of right now, we are a go. There are some changes: 1. Every person when entering the alley MUST have a mask on. Masks must be worn in common areas (the carpeted area behind the lanes, the main hall, bathrooms, bar, etc)Masks can be removed once you are on YOUR LANE, on the couches. Of course you are welcome to keep your mask on when you are bowling, at your own discretion, but if you wish you can remove them at your lane. 2. Every person will have their temperature taken when entering the alley with a non-contact thermometer. If you have a fever you will not be permitted entry. 3. Any guests attending are NOT allowed in the lanes area where the bowlers are (unless they are sparing), and any guests MUST be recorded, with contact info for contact tracing. We have contact info for all bowlers and we know by score sheets who are there, but if you bring someone else with you, we HAVE to keep a list of who is there. 4. Most of us bring our own ball and shoes, but if you use alley shoes or alley balls, you are to leave them on the ball return when we leave. Do NOT put them back. They will come and get them after we leave, and sanitize them before returning them to the rack. We need a reply by Saturday who is planning to return, because we have to make up the teams, and get everything ready. See everyone Saturday.

PARTY!!!!!!! Now that we are in Stage 3, and can once again have gatherings, at least outdoors, we will have a bowling BBQ: Saturday, August 29 @ 3 pm Darrin's Back yard... We will be BBQ'ing burgers and dogs, and because it's a tradition in on this weekend every year, we'll be doing corn on the cob. BYOB and Bring a lawn chair. We will attempt to social distance as much as we can. Masks are not essential as we will be outside, so it is a personal choice as to whether you want to wear one or not, but in today's climate, it's always a good idea to have one with you. This will be a bit of a paired down bowling banquet, but the prizes will be handed out for how we finished the season, and some prize money returned to each bowler as usual. Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming and if you plan to bring a guest (there will be a charge for any guests). You can RSVP by private messaging Darrin or Trish. As for bowling this year, we're hoping to have some announcement to make at the BBQ, but as of right now, we still don't know. We have a meeting at the alley next week to discuss how/when we might be able to return. Thank you to all who emailed and messaged with your comments to our earlier survey. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
