SUPERTRAIN 14.11.2020

The COVID pandemic this year required cancelling SUPERTRAIN 2020, and with great regret, we have now decided to also cancel SUPERTRAIN 2021. With a second and likely more difficult COVID wave now upon us, conditions do not look to be sufficiently better in time for SUPERTRAIN 2021. After considering the basic options - cancel now, or go forward with planning to a later decision point to proceed with the show or cancel, it seemed that eventual cancellation was inevitable. Conditions and regulations could not sufficiently improve to allow a show attracting a hundred exhibitors and 10,000 visitors to go ahead in safety; and exhibitors and visitors would be equally hesitant to attend even if it were allowed.

Modellers-do you have a damaged box car on your layout? Many old box cars were moved from the track and used for any number of reasons: grain storage, work sheds, windbreaks, general storage..... So it is prototypical to have boxcars (without trucks) placed away from tracks and agressively weathered. It's an easy way to populate a layout.

Modellers normally have tight space restriction to realize their aspirations. That said, in the real world Mother Nature and sometimes people cause disruptions. Slides, sloughs, avalanches, washouts and, yes, derailments force railways to use "shooflys". These are temporary track realignments to bypass trouble while repairs are made. Always requiring a slow order for ops the shoofly can add that touch of reality to your layout.

To all scales of modellers out there try something unique on your layout. Maintenance of Way forces are everywhere on the property so you may want to embellish your layout with Track, B&B or Signals crews to add realism to some scenes. Your local hobby shop has what you need.

Modellers! I'm sure all are happy to finally be able to get out of lockdown. Warm weather is calling. Don't forget to complete the project you have been working on before you put it away. Your local hobby supplier is waiting to help you with what you need to finish up. Of course, we at Supertrain and others would like to see a post of your project.
