On Friday, December 18, 2020 our office staff had our Christmas gift exchange and fun day. Practicing Covid-19 safety guidelines our very own staff chef, aka Geanie, cooked and served us a fantastic Turkey dinner complete with all the trimmings. Dairy Queen, Carbonear, provided us with a lovely ice cream cake for dessert (thanks Janet and staff). Following dinner we had our gift exchange and then we played some games planned by none other than our Executive Director, aka... me , to get in the festive spirit.......Christmas Bingo, Christmas Carol Game, Christmas Trivia, and a Christmas Scavenger hunt to round off the day. Here’s a pic of the girls enjoying their dinner (I’m on the camera lol) and a couple pictures from the scavenger hunt......notice that while Helena is getting her items together, Geanie is taking a leisurely stroll out to her office to search for the items (do ya need a set of roller blades for Christmas Geanie? ) and Holly......well she’s not one to back down from a competition so she’s out and about somewhere gathering her items as fast as she can.....check out her excitement as she runs toward the boardroom with her items as she knows Helena is just about to get on her tail A fun day was had by all!

Wanted to share this video with everyone on this gloomy Thursday morning in hopes it will make you smile. Nadine Reid enjoys writing about her work experience at Dildo Freshmart and frequently shares it with our staff. Nadine is not only articulate and well versed she is friendly and her customer service standard is top notch. The match between her and her job coach, Christine, is an excellent example of how on the job support works and what a good match looks like. WTG Nadine Reid, we are so proud of you!

During the month of October MRON staff were on the road for Disability Employment Awareness Month. We work diligently to secure meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities and also to create inclusive, diverse workplaces. We took this opportunity to showcase our employers along the Baccalieu Trail and promote inclusion for all. Our employers are some of our biggest supporters. They hire our clients and give them the necessary work experience and skills needed to s...ucceed in their chosen employment. MRON staff would like to thank all of our employers who have hired our clients in 2020 for part-time, full-time, seasonal and summer employment. Here are some of our employers sporting their 'Inclusive Employer" decals that were presented to be placed in a window or door to identify them as an equal opportunity employer. Missing photos from the following employers: Aqua Crab Producers, Avalon North Wolverine Search & Rescue, Dominion-Bay Roberts, Golden Arm RV Park, Keyin Carbonear, Whiteway Recreation Committee. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our clients! If you are an employer and want more info on our program please reach out to use via Facebook or call 709-596-6217. See more
