WHAT’S SUPPORTING LOCAL LOOK LIKE DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC? Let’s talk... We know that in times like these, lots of us are navigating the world a little diff...erently. If you’re anything like us you’re using a degree of caution when it comes to your travelling and spending habits. But instead of looking at this as a pain in the rear, in this climate, smaller, local businesses like ours can be a valuable addition to your habits! We count on your patronage, kind words and referrals to keep running and it can yield amazing results in our communities... So when deciding where to spend your hard-earned dollars during times of uncertainty, we want to highlight some of the far-reaching positives your choice to support us has on THIS community. WHEN YOU CHOOSE US: - We then utilize other local businesses such as banks, suppliers, trades people, service providers, and farmers. - For every $100 you spend with us, approximately $68 will stay in the community. - As an independent retailers return more than THREE TIMES as much money per dollar of sales to the community in which we operate than chain competitors. - Independent restaurants return more than two times as much money per dollar of sales than national restaurant chains. - Our small businesses employs your spouses, kids and NEIGHBOURS! NOT TO MENTION THE NON-FINANCIAL BENIFITS: * Local businesses are owned and operated by your neighbors! We all care about and are invested in the well-being of this community and its future. * Local businesses are more accountable to their local communities and actually donate more money directly to local non-profits. * Supporting local businesses is good for the environment because they often have a smaller carbon footprint than larger companies. NOW, we KNOW it isn’t always the easiest or most convenient option to visit a local independent business... However, there are plenty of ways you can help support your local economy by thinking local first: 1. Share local content on your social media, you don’t need to spend dollars to support!! 2. Try the menu at a local restaurant for lunch or dinner instead of drive through 3. Purchase a birthday present or gift card from the store down the street 4. Get a local trainer to stay healthy 5. Visit a local nursery or hardware store for your lawn and garden needs 6. Get your car serviced at a local mechanic 7. Visit the farmers markets to purchase the ingredients for your family dinner. There are lots of buy local groups online!
