This week and next, I am reading and watching Stuart McGill's series of books ("Back Mechanic") and DVDs about low back pain assessment and treatment. So far I am very impressed with what I have read. Here is a link to a good video where Dr. McGill talks about assessing and treating low back pain.

Good news. I will be returning to work in the first week of September! I spoke with my surgeon and physiotherapist this week and both said I am healing very well and as long as I continue to rest for the next 2.5 weeks my return to work is looking good. My September work schedule will be limited as I have to ease my freshly healed femur back into standing for 10+ hours a day.
