South Surrey catchment boundaries have been reestablished to prepare for 2 new elementary schools. Sunnyside's Montessori Choice Program will move to the new Site 180 school in January 2021. New Catchment Boundaries affecting Sunnyside and the Montessori program. I would urge anyone who is free, to attend the forums next week, complete the (5-minute) survey, and spread the word. Potential questions: If 50% of Montessori students live in catchment, how will the numbers change? Can Montessori students, who live in catchment, transition to the neighbourhood program, or will they be obliged to move with the Choice Program? Will Montessori students (and staff) be f...orced to move mid year, if the new school at the border is completed by January 2021, as planned? Why will the program be reduced to 5 divisions (from 7 last year and 6 this year) if it is moved to Halls Prairie, when there is a big wait list for all grade levels? Will Sunnyside's Montessori Choice program be moving to another school? We've added it to the AGM agenda, for discussion at tomorrow's meeting at Latimer Rd Elementary. Doors open at 6:30pm, meeting begins at 7pm. New catchment boundaries will be established to prepare for the addition of the 2 new elementary schools in South Surrey. A consultation process will run until December 18. Parents and students will be able to add their personal input by completing an online survey..., emailing, submitting a paper version of the survey, or attending a forum, and voicing your opinion in person. The Montessori (SMS) Annual General Meeting will be held in the Latimer Road Elementary School library on Thursday, November 14 at 7pm. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Come and see how you can support the Montessori program both at school and at home. Doors will open at 6:30 and refreshments will be served.
