It is commendable that the province is trying to help survivors of domestic violence. Some things to consider might be: - Is this service only available in Winnipeg? What about expanding the DVIU to rural and Northern Manitoba? - Given the low rate of actual prosecution of domestic violence, will this service actually help the majority of victims? If it applies to supporting families as they navigate the family court system, it will reach more families.
