Color Block Challenge An exercise to improve handling of the Apple Pencil 2 and the iPad Pro 2020 interface using Adobe Fresco. I chose this guache by Joan Miro because it has a limited color palette but lots of different shapes and challenging 'intersections'. It was a good exercise to help me gain some confidence in my draftsmanship using this technology (draftsmanship is still the weakest tool in my toolkit).

Yet another prompt directing me back to the 1960's. Since I have already done Jackie O and Twiggy in response to similar prompts, I decided to focus on the iconic fashion designer, Mary Quant, known for her bold color block designs. This was done on an iPad Pro 2020 using Adobe Fresco. (The logo was 'lifted' from the internet.)

Red Couture A method study based on a garment image I snapped in Paris last fall. It is a multi-part construction with folds that create volume and shadows. I built this image based on lines, shapes, volumes and shadows in the photo image using techniques I have been studying on SkillShare in classes taught by Anna Sokolova and Robert Generette III.

Workspace Prompt Composited with iPad Pro 2020 using Adobe Fresco. I am a glass artist and I have found that the iPad Pro 2020 is a great visualizing tool for my principal medium. I am also using the device as part of a '100 Day Challenge' to become more comfortable with the Adobe Fresco interface and gain more confidence with illustration and draftsmanship.

I am spending 100 days exploring digital illustration and graphic design using an iPad Pro 2020 and Adobe Fresco (also Photoshop, Illustrator and a host of mobile apps. These are, at the end of the day, great visualizing tools. When I return to glass I will have a better means of ensuring that my assumptions about color, texture and composition are correct. Thank you for following me at Susan F Harrison Fine Arts.

Woman with Patterned Beret The challenge here was to create a minimalist fashion image. The beret is from photographs I took last fall at the Basilica of St. Denis; as the first Gothic Cathedral, the concept of 'painting with light' was taken very seriously. I took those photographs and turned them into Patterns, using Adobe Capture. The pattern in the beret was accomplished by using the pattern image and creating a clipping mask to place it into the beret's space. The compositing was done in Adobe Fresco using an iPad Pro 2020 (an awesome piece of tech, to be sure!!)

Using photographs of the Lady Slipper orchid, the official flower of Prince Edward Island in Atlantic Canada, I used Adobe Capture to create patterns. I also used Photoshop to edit the images and Fresco to composite the final image.

Steampunk Under the Sea On an iPad 2020 Pro using Adobe Fresco. I know it is not glass, but the hardware and software make a formidable visualizing tool. Since time is something that I have abundantly, it seems appropriate to do projects that might give me more insight into how to create more texture and depth.

A response to a steampunk prompt. So many steampunk images involve 'under the sea' themes. So I chose a jellyfish and a mariner's compass as subject matter. This was done on an iPad Pro 2020 using Adobe Fresco. This software (and the hardware that runs it) are a great tool for visualizing for glass compositions. I am trying to become proficient in this medium so that I can apply it to glass work before committing glass and enamels

Matisse Made Me Draw It Just a fun piece that reminded me of the workshops I had with Morgan Madison and Paul Messink. It is a first try with processes in Adobe Fresco on the iPad Pro 2020. Just fun!!! More to come!!

Pansies My first finished piece using the iPad Pro 2020. I am particularly keen on learning the use of layer masking in illustration. This piece is a simple example of this process.
