The interest in luxury expedition cruises is on the rise for when travel returns, and the Galapagos is one of the most popular destinations for a truly unique a...dventure with its vibrant and awe-inspiring biodiversity. Introducing a few of the locals you might get the chance to meet: 1. The Sally Lightfoot Crab - a colorful standout against the dried black lava of the Galapagos coastline, they are aptly named and incredibly quick on their feet. 2. The Spotted Eagle Ray - flies through the tides while growing up to 5 meters, tail included! 3. The Giant Tortoise - the MVP of Galapagos locals, the largest living species of tortoise in the world. 4. The Blue-footed Booby - quirky name, quirky moves. the males show off their fancy feet as part of the mating ritual. 5. The EspaƱola Marine Iguana - nicknamed the 'Christmas Iguana' for its year-round festive colors. A bucket list sighting for divers, it can thrive both on land and under the sea!
