I’m happy to report that the first six weeks back to work have gone very well. My wonderful clients have been compliant with mask wearing, occasionally choosing to swap out their cloth mask for one of my disposables which are easier to breathe through. So, if you’re one of the approximately 25 percent of my clientele who have not yet booked a treatment, I hope you find this post encouraging.

I have a start date for reopening: Tuesday June 30th! I will prioritize clients with the most urgent need for massage therapy and clients whose appointments were canceled due to the shutdown. Things will be a bit different. There will be a virtual screening prior to your appointment and then an in person screening at your appointment. I will ask you to bring a mask, cloth or disposable, to wear during your treatment. If you don’t have one, I will provide a mask for you. ... Please note that my fees have increased by $5 per treatment, the first fee increase in several years. I’ve attached a summary of what to expect and of all the health and safety measures I’m implementing to keep us all safe and healthy. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Hi everyone, Let me begin by saying how much I miss you all! As you may have heard, RMTs have been given the green light to GRADUALLY begin the process of reopening. While this is wonderful news, several steps need to be taken before we are able to start treating clients. In order to meet proper standards in accordance with the Ministry of Health, Public Health Ontario and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, RMTs must put the following protocols in place:... -Both the therapists and the client MUST wear a mask during the entire treatment (The client is asked to bring their own cloth or disposable mask. If you do not have one, a disposable mask will be provided to you) -A COVID-19 screening process will be required for each client at the time of booking as well as on the day of the appointment. -We need to prioritize clients with essential care needs while gradually resuming practice. Treatment is considered essential when the client’s overall health or function would considerably decline if treatment were not provided (i.e. lead to hospitalization or other serious health consequences). -We must ensure all cleaning, disinfecting and sanitation protocols are upheld for each client. More time between appointments will be required. Every RMT must have completed additional health and safety training requirements set out by the Ministry of Health. -We must maintain a schedule without overlap of clients in the waiting room so I will ask clients to wait in their car until I am ready for you to enter the building. These are just a few of the requirements/changes to our standards of practice. I apologize that I cannot give you a specific date of reopening but please know that I am working hard to purchase PPE, additional linens and disinfectant, in addition to completing the health and safety courses. Thank you for your patience and I hope to see you soon!

I hope you, my wonderful clients, are all doing ok and I want you to know that I miss you all so much!! I am in the process of ordering PPE and disinfectant while we wait for permission to reopen. In the meantime, enjoy this video of what Massage Therapy may look like going forward

Dear clients: As I posted on Monday, the Covid 19 pandemic has been a fluid situation and since then I have not been treating clients and, sadly, have had to make the incredibly hard decision to suspend my practice for the foreseeable future. As a health care worker, it would be negligent to continue working, potentially putting myself and others at risk. Thank you for understanding. We are all in this together and together we can help stem the tide of this evil virus. Take good care of yourselves and I hope to see you in the not too distant future.
