However, due to limited space for social distancing, we will be starting with take out orders (pick-up only) first and from there, moving on to other options to serve you better in the near future. **UPDATE** TAKE OUT ONLY (New business hours: MONDAY thru FRIDAY-OPEN/ SATURDAY-CLOSED) until further notice After much thought, we have decided to stop dine-in orders, but will continue with take out only starting from today (March 16th, 2020) for the next few weeks.... For the safety of all, we decided to brace for substantial changes resulting from the recommended social distancing although it was a tough decision for us to make. While the BC government is currently only calling for limits on social gatherings of 50 people or more, since we are located in bustling James Bay, where there are many people - tourists, children, and seniors included- coming and going, we needed to ensure everyone's safety by temporarily offering take out only. We will continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19, and take steps to help protect the health and well-being of our customers, our staff, and community by adjusting our plans accordingly for the benefit of all. Rest assured that we are still taking all the precautionary measures written in the previous post and your take out food is cooked and tastes exactly the same as you dine in at our restaurant as always. Our Valued Customers With the growing concern and continuing spread of COVID-19, we are reaching out to assure our customers that we are striving to maintain clean restaurant here at Sushi Matsuri. What we are doing:... 1. Disinfection - We have stepped up the frequency of disinfecting high-touch areas throughout the day with disinfectant products. 2. No reusable bags - We have always encouraged our customers to bring their own bags or containers for take-out for zero waste, but, we will offer you a free paper bag for more than two take-out containers and will no longer take any reusable bags from customers for the time being. 3. Hand Sanitizer - It is at the front of our restaurant for easy access and gets regularly refilled. 4. Thorough and frequent hand-washing by our staff - Employee hygiene and food safety is our top priority in any case and we are making extra efforts to make sure of it. 5. No Noren - We have removed our big fish noren-the big curtains at the door and washroom- to reduce close contact. 6. Tables - We have removed everything on the tables and will newly set up the tables every single time our customers arrive. This means disinfecting soy sauce bottles and menu each time. These are a few that we are continuing to keep our restaurant clean and please do not hesitate to reach us if you have any concerns. Also, we are kindly asking our customers to wash hands upon arrival at our restaurant or use hand sanitizers to make sure everyone’s safety. We truly appreciate all of your help during this time and will continue to keep you updated on any new information or precautionary measures we must take. Thank you. SUSHI MATSURI

We have been giving so much effort to do what we can do for our planet. It has been almost about a year separating items that can be recycled. We have a commercial plastic recycle bin, a paper recycle bin and kitchen scraps bin so those items go in there. Soft plastics go to Thrifty Foods and styrofoams go to London Drugs for their next life. We always encourage our customers to bring their own containers for reducing one-time-use containers even if ours are paper-based and compostable. We can do it together!

8th. Year Anniversary! It has been beautiful 8 years for us all. We cannot stop right here because this wonderful show must go on! Thank you, everyone! We are still going to rock you for another 8 years and definatley for more!
