Merry Christmas from my family to yours! I have a couple thoughts to quickly share on this very unique holiday season... Today we are so thankful for all the frontline emergency and healthcare workers who cannot take work off. Please keep safe and follow health orders out of respect to them, if not your own health, at the very least. With presents this year, we made a conscious effort to try and keep them as local as possible and support those businesses that need it more than ever. It made unwrapping the presents this year feel a little more special, and I think this may become a nice tradition, even post covid

Proud to see our government providing $10million to this incredibly valuable and much needed grant to create better supports for sexual assault survivors. Thank you to Ending Violence Association of British Columbia and other partners for putting in the work to develop the program. Easy and accessible mental health support is more important now than ever before and I am so glad to see our government has launched a free 24/7 Mental Health Counselling and Referral Service "Here2Talk" for post secondary student. Seasons greetings from your #NorthVan MLAs and friends! Picked up 60 boxes of mandarins from Marilyn at Kin's Farm Market, then with help from Bowinn Ma, we signed some cards to go in each box. Now off to deliver them to the hardworking staff at our healthcare centres around the community!

Well my first session of the Legislature is done which was very exciting, albeit a little toned down since I was just video calling in from home. I took every opportunity I could get to speak, and speak I did! I thanked everyone who helped me get this far in my introductory speech, and attached below is a 3 minute clip from my statement of support to care workers and families of those who need care. I have met with so many people who provide in home care, from families to midwives and nurses. You inspire me, I am going to work as hard as I can to ensure you have the support you deserve.

I am sure you've seen this graphic in a million places now, so here it is once more. These orders are crucial so we can see our families this holiday season and ensure businesses are not suffering for much longer. Also with the mask mandate, and I cannot stress this enough, please wear your mask properly! Covering your nose and mouth, as leaving your nose hanging out is not going to do anyone any good

As with all other events of significance this year, Covid will impact the recognition of Remembrance Day, 11/11/2020. We will not gather but we will remember them. I encourage everyone to find a way to remember our veterans and their contributions to our safety and security ongoing.... What a week it has been! With advanced voting wrapped up, it is now on to E-Day, and I am feeling more determined than ever to represent you in the new government. I will be making as many phone calls as humanly possible over the next couple days, and trying to get out and around the community for fresh air breaks in between those calls. Yesterday myself and Bowinn Ma had the pleasure of hosting an informal chat with #northvan voters at Phibbs Exchange, with the one and only Jagmeet Singh! Amazing to connect with voters and discuss transit plans and concerns everyone has been feeling in day to day life. Moreover it was inspiring to see the confidence everyone had in our BC NDP Government!
