With the Sussex area (zone 2) now in the orange phase we would just like to remind you, if possible,to call in advance for medication and food orders. We remain with a locked door policy. Also, all dogs must be on leashes and cats must be safely secured in a carrier. Thank you for helping us keep our clients and staff safe during these difficult times.

An incident of human contact with a raccoon that tested positive for rabies is confirmed in Charlotte County. Two children were in contact with a raccoon that w...as acting abnormally docile. The exposed individuals have been treated appropriately. Anyone that has direct contact with a bat or a suspected rabid animal in the form of a touch, bite or scratch should contact Tele-care 811 immediately. If you suspect your pet had contact with a rabies infected wild animal, please contact your local veterinarian for proper advice and follow up. Pet owners should ensure their pets are kept up to date on their rabies vaccination. COVID-19 update Effective immediately: With the limited staff we have changed our hours of operations to 8:30-5 Monday to Friday. We will be open this Saturday March 21 for supply pick up but after that Saturdays will remain closed until further notice. All after hour emergencies will need to go to Riverview Animal Hospital.... We have initiated a Closed-Door Policy, we have locked our front doors. We ask that clients call us when you arrive for your appointment. We will meet you outside to get your pet. The exam will take place in our hospital with your scheduled Doctor with communication via telephone. We can take payment over the phone for food and visits and bring things out to you. If you only have payment with debit call first so we can make sure the place is empty and pre sanitized. We thank you for your patience as we work together to provide the best care for your pet.

For the safety of our staff we will no longer be accepting any cash. We will continue to have debit and credit card use. This will come into effect March 18/20 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience this may bring. We also encourage you to call ahead for food and medication orders as our supplies may be limited. At this time we remain open and are taking the precautions as recommended. We will update with any changes.
