Sussex Avenue Fiddlers

Have been thinking about SAF practices. There seems to be some unwanted Covid activity in our Moncton area. Things can change quickly and are unpredictable so we think the best thing to do for now is to put a hold on the SAF practices. As much as we would all like to be back together and making music everyone’s health and safety is more important. Keep your fiddle out of the case where you can see it and try to play it every day!... Lets keep in touch with each other and share our music whenever and wherever we can. Today our hearts break as we say goodbye to one of our dearest Sussex Avenue Fiddlers, Chris Townsend. This amazing lady was 98 years young and had been an active member of the group and community until just this year. She was present at practices, concerts and if there was a bus tour you can be sure Mom, as we called her, was there. She set a great example for us all in how to live a worthwhile and happy life. She always had a smile and a kind word. She loved her f...amily, friends and music and we certainly loved her. It has been a long time since our practices were on Sussex Avenue but it is where we began waaaay back.
