Moving on to greener pastures! We will definitely be sad to say goodbye to our Sustainable Suburbia roots but we're so excited to move on to the next phase of this adventure. So we received an unsolicited package of seeds today from China. If you receive one, or have received one, DO NOT open it. Call your regional Canadian Food Inspection agency, or equivalent if you're following us from abroad, and above all DO NOT plant the seeds.

Believe it or not you can braid hardneck garlic. All you need to do is let them dry in bunch or spread out for about 2 weeks then remove the remaining scape (what makes them hard), then dry until they're still pliable but not too green. Then just braid them like you would soft neck garlic! You can also braid onions, as we've done here. Make sure you store them in a cool dry space, preferably with as little light as possible. Harvested the potatoes today because the plants were really not looking very hot. They definitely could have used another few weeks but we still got a tasty little yield.
