We're launching Feature Friday takeovers to highlight the stories and faces behind campus sustainability at the University of Guelph. From this week onward, we will host a takeover every Friday on our Instagram stories, along with an accompanying blog-post to feature various individuals, organizations, and departments leading change here on campus. If you're interested in hosting a Friday Feature takeover, please email Samantha at [email protected] with a short pitch on what you'd cover. You can either self-nominate or share a nomination for a group or individual you'd like to see featured.

Well, today, you can find out by tuning into our Instagram (@sustainableuofg) for our first Feature Friday, which is showcasing our student-staff taking you through a day in the life of our compost crew. Have you heard about Green Labs Guelph? They are our latest Sustainability Ambassador project and are currently recruiting for volunteers to join their team. Green Labs Guelph aims to empower students, staff, and faculty through promoting and creating laboratory-based sustainability practices and initiatives. Currently, this student project aims to launch a lab coat reuse program for the Winter 2022 semester. ... This semester, they are looking for people interested in planning this project, developing an outreach strategy, and completing the CSA accreditation requirements for this upcoming fall. Well, the Sustainable Student, our student-led blog, is just one way you can volunteer with us in a manner that works best for your schedule and time commitment level. The Sustainable Student is always accepting content contributors to share their written or photographic work on the blog.... You can do these at your own pace and submit them at a timing that works best for you. You could write a reflection on an environmental issue, share a story or opinion piece on your experiences, or even compile a list of tips & tricks you've acquired in our personal sustainability journey. You could even repurpose some of your old assignments to be blog posts! This blog is a space open to writers of all experience levels and can be a great place to test out a writing style different than your traditional academic papers and reports.
