Statement re: COVID-19 - posted earlier today and on our website.

COVID-19 News To all Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival participants. We are committed to creating a respectful, safe, and clean environment where community ...can thrive. The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, teachers, and staff are a top priority. We are closely monitoring the developing COVID-19 situation and are in constant contact with MacEwan University. Currently, there are no plans to cancel the 2020 Festival as while there are a number of participants over the course of the Festival, there are never more than 75 participants in any one venue at any given time. Should there be a directive from either MacEwan University or Alberta Health Services (AHS) to cancel the Festival, we will follow the directive and provide more information at that time. For the 2020 Festival, we will be supplying hand sanitizer in all performance venues and wiping down piano keys after each performance. As the size of our venues allow, we will be encouraging people to sit at least one (1) metre apart by setting up the audience seating in such a manner.

REMINDER: Registration Deadline is THIS Tuesday, February 4, 2020 for this year's Festival. Please make sure you check for classes in BOTH the AMFA Provincial S...YLLABUS (where you'll find most of the classes you're looking for), and the Edmonton ADDENDA (where you'll find additional classes, including, but not limited to: Adult Classes [various disciplines], String Plan II, Speech & Spoken Word, Country/Western Vocal, Jazz/Swing Vocal, World Music/Ethnomusic, and Special Scholarships). Edmonton (and area) music/speech teachers: On-line Registration is now open for the 2020 Festival. Did you know Edmonton offers additional classes in its ADDENDA (including, but not limited to: Adult Classes [various disciplines], String Plan II, Speech & Spoken Word, Country/Western Vocal, Jazz/Swing Vocal, World Music/Ethnomusic, and Special Scholarships). These classes are in addition to all the classes you will find in the AMFA Provincial Syllabus.
