Sweet Escape Muskoka update! The new kitchen is happening. I've been mostly winging the whole design thing so far but the kitchen was too big of a deal (and expense) not to roll out a proper plan. We've partnered with Home Depot Canada to give this little corner a big update. Check out what what's in store for the new kitchen & dining area!

The unsung hero of the #cheerstreammakeover was definitely the layers upon layers of white paint. It instantly transformed the whole space, covered up all the old, created a cohesive look and gave us a fresh and clean backdrop to layer in all the fun accessories and colourful wallpapers. We went with Valspar Paint’s Ultra White because we wanted everything to look, well, ultra white. Mission accomplished. #partner

Getting up is hard. Especially on vacation and especially when your bedroom on wheels looks like this. The Airstream bedroom started off as twin beds in a cave-like corner and now is a clean, fresh and cozy place to to get up (or get down ). #cheerstreammakeover

You know you’re an adult when you get excited about faucets I can confidently say that we upped the happy of doing dishes on vacation by 145% just by adding this sexy gold @deltafaucetcan pull down faucet. Truth bomb The Airstream bathroom was gross. Not surprisingly we kinda pretended it didn’t exist and left it until the very end. Which makes it a nice surprise that it ended up being my favourite makeover! (Swipe to see the before) I give credit to this fab @spoonflower wallpaper for stealing the show. It’s finally here! I know you thought I left you hanging with the Airstream but I would never. After many months and and many visits to Almonte, Cheerfully Made Goods + Markets and I finally got her all dolled up and ready to show off her new look. I finally have a minute to sit down and edit the #cheerstreammakeover pics and thought I would share this cute thrifted find since it’s #nationalthriftshopday. The Airstream and now the cottage have given me a reason to reignite my thrifting addition...errrrr...passion. Secret’s out, I have a new sweet escape! I’m officially the proud new owner of a summer cottage in Muskoka! If you know me then you know I’ve been talking about this for a very long time and timing was right to finally take the leap. Although I have been looking for awhile, this specific opportunity happened quite quickly. Nothing like the universe lighting a fire under you to help make the jump. Now that the shock has worn off I’m super excited to give this cozy space a make...over and make it my own without losing its charm. My goal is to be able to share it with friends, family and maybe you! by next Spring. There will definitely be some updates here but feel free to follow along at @sweetescape_muskoka if you want to see more updates, design details, rental info and how a 30-something single gal plans on tackling it all (read: some fails and maybe some ugly face crying). Holy sh!t, we did it! @cheerfullymade and I (99%) finished the Airstream. I haven’t even looked at the photos yet because I’m too exhausted but I just hadddddd to post something because honestly I wasn’t 100% sure if we would get here before the first snowfall. I know this is just a tease but we can’t wait to show you this new bright and cheerful space! #cheerstreammakeover
