Vintage cake decorating is making a comeback! The Lambeth method is a classic cake design that uses a royal icing to pipe shells, scallops and pearls that wrap around the cake and are layered on top of each other or over- piped. This technique originated in the UK in 1930's and was popularized by Joseph Lambeth.... This was my first time trying this technique. I must admit this cake tested my patience. It is a slow, precise and detailed process. From the consistency of the royal icing to the way you sit and position of the piping nozzle, everything must be carefully planned.
