Cookies for the girls teachers! I did taupe for the small present and stocking (hard to tell from pictures...) and tried the "linen" look on them but looks like I needed to be more aggressive with the white haha. Oh well. Even the tree is part white, part taupe, but I should've gone darker with the taupe... Detail piping makes me realize why I prefer handpainting...

Birthday cookies! I was asked to make cookies in the form of his favorite sports team that are part of a 5 piece birthday gift with the theme of the 5 senses (can you guess which of the senses this is? ). What a creative and fun birthday present idea! He's going to love it, all of it! So fun!

Had a bit of extra dough and Icing so I made some single advent cookies for some options for a friend's reusable advent calendar. Plus the girls finished advent calendar cookie boxes. The girls are so excited and each chose their own ribbon!

16th anniversary cake for later today! Made at the cabin (notice my cake board? ) Gluten free chocolate cake with strawberry filling, chocolate American buttercream, chocolate ganache, and a chocolate sail Attempted a modern abstract "concrete cake". But... Kind of hard when you start with chocolate buttercream and only have black Wilton gel paste... But it was fun to try something new!

So my kids always get the simple technique /trial cookies for their birthdays! I love trying new things with the girls birthdays! This year my oldest and almost 9 year old (tomorrow) wanted a Lolirock "birthday" and by birthday I mean a day with the family since we're social distancing still from everyone except immediate family... So unfortunately no friends party, not even at a park. Not worth the risk So instead of having to make 3-4 dozen cookies (between her class...mates and her party), I didn't need to make that many and I'd always wanted to try a cookie puzzle so... . . And, of course, who wants to spend forever and a day piping and painting lolirock characters... #notme... #imlazy Luckily she LOVES them! They're all blown away that I made a cookie puzzle - pretty sure I'm the coolest mom every to them . In hindsight I would've found a way to do their hair the colour is supposed to be (from left to right : orange, pink and blue) but now that it's airbrushed with blue, I'm pretty sure it'll just blend colours.... And the black will bleed...

Since there were no plans for Canada day , decided to do something special for the girls and make a canada day cookie cake! (my 6 year old helped make the cake ). . Since it was last minute, I couldn't accessorize with cookies, but I had some modelling chocolate in the freezer and whipped up some buttercream. . The small maple leafs on the sides are modelling chocolate, the giant leaf in the center is a buttercream transfer I made (next time I'd love to try using cookies!)

Really enjoyed making this impromptu set for a friend who had a baby! The rainbow took some time, but it was so fun to try this technique! No pressure, no stress, no deadlines, just pure enjoyment, and I love how they turned out! I left the bottom of the rainbow with a space, intending to write his name on it, but decided I loved the simplicity without Inspo from @lindsey.ruel @cubandcuppy and @tara_bakes

I decided to be overly ambitious and make thank you cookies for the school staff at the girls school! Plus tacked on a couple for my other daughters preschool teachers and another for a couple of teachers at a different school/preschool for a friend. . My train of thought for these: i meshed together the typical "apple" theme with the iced "thanks a latte" trend to merge it into an iced "apple" latte complete with stem for the straw and a leaf (since the girls school logo is red)! Instead of a Starbucks logo or other logo I decided to use the school logos for a custom finish

Finished teacher "gift" cookies for the girls teachers, and a few extra just because I contemplated adding a royal Icing pinecone, but feedback indicated 50/50, and perhaps simpler is better, so for my sanity, I'll stick with simple!

When your hubby tells you on Tuesday night at 630pm that the cake he wanted you to make for his staff year end bbq is for Tomorrow morning (Wednesday, so TODAY) and not Thursday like he had originally said, this is the best he gets no border, nothing (not enough buttercream and no time to make more!). Luckily the cookie cake topper was made and frozen on the weekend when I did my daughter's class party cookies . Jojo siwa cake for my middle girl's birthday party today! I don't get asked to make cakes much anymore, mostly cookies, but I still love to do cakes so I love when my girls birthday parties come around! She wanted chocolate and vanilla cake with strawberry cookies and cream filling (I also included my fudge crunch layer between each) covered in vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. And, of course, candy because of jojo siwa's song "kid in a candy store" ... I got to try the "fault line cake" trend and it was So much fun (and easy!) to do!

My daughter's kindergarten class is part of a "green team" that's having a bake sale to bring awareness to ways they can conserve energy and help the environment. The funds the kids raise at school are going towards new energy saving lights for every classroom! My 5 year old chose from a few designs I showed her and this is what she chose! She was so excited to bring them to her class today!

It's not much, but it's something I can do. I found this quote on her Instagram that she found comfort in when her daughter was born at 23 weeks. Never give up hope

I can officially say I have a chocolate gluten free Sugar cookie!! Like a soft brownie cookie that keeps its shape, you can't even tell it's GF! I could eat them all... (still working on the regular GF sugar cookie but so far I'm finding it less than impressive, but hubby thinks my expectations are too high... )
