5 years ago today we lost a great leader... https://demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca//David_Fry/obituary.html
Wishing all of our members an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend as we find different ways to safely celebrate with family and friends in-person and over screens!
Such a loss to the community to keep the pool closed...swimming is one of the few health-enhancing activities that people can pursue for their entire life. Not only does swimming positively contribute to peoples’ overall health and well-being, but it also provides people with meaningful opportunities to enhance their communities (the list of benefits goes on). The evidence that swimming and related aquatic activity contributes to community capital is irrefutable...we hope that Acadia reconsiders this decision...
Its #CoachesWeek Thanks to all of our swim coaches for the positive impact youve had on so many swimmers lives! Be sure to thank your coach for all they do!! #thankscoach

Tune in tomorrow (Monday) to CBC morning radio and the CBC evening news - featuring the Lunenburg Mariners Swim Team and Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club! @lunenburg_mariners @hfxtrojans
Many thanks to the leadership team at the Lunenburg Swimming Pool who had the foresight, commitment and courage to be ready to open for business this year, and welcome many teams, becoming one of our success stories. The pool is a non-profit and is run solely for the benefit of the local community. With all that being said, fundraising is very important, yet a challenge to do in these times. Please help support their team by participating in their online 50/50 Fundraiser: https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/ldsps

Black Lives Matter #blackouttuesday
Hard Work Works. The CSCA recently hosted a conversation between three Canadian Olympians who discussed their memories of the late Kevin Thorburn. Brittany Ma...cLean was joined by Tobias Oriwol and Kelly Stefanyshyn Herda to share memories and stories of their coach and friend. This session is being made available publicly for all to view and share. Kevin's enthusiasm, passion and pride for coaching and for the sport of swimming will be missed by all of us in the swimming community. Anyone who would like to pass on stories or memories of Kevin to his family can do so through [email protected] (Carmen & Sienna) and to [email protected] (Reid Thorburn).
