Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we would like to say thanks to another local hero we are grateful for this year. Suzie Durigon is a Culinary Curator, Cookbook Author, and Giver. Suzie believes food brings people together and sharing food can bring so much happiness. A few years ago, she founded the Bake It Forward Project, where she gives back to those in need within her community through Random Acts of Sweetness. Six years and tens of thousands of cookies and ca...kes later, she is still baking it forward, influencing those around her to follow her steps. This year for Thanksgiving, we were able to support Suzie on one of her many #bakeitforward projects and helped deliver meals to Seeds of Hope Foundation. This Thanksgiving, we want to say thanks to our local heroes. Irene Matys is a Local Farm-to-Table Advocate, Food Stylist, Food Style Segment Expert, and so much more. As a refugee, Irene was always extremely grateful for the support she received from her community when her and her family immigrated to Canada in 1976, and has been volunteering to give back since 2015. Every Thanksgiving, Irene prepares a homemade meal for the folks at Kerr Street Mission. However, due to th...e pandemic, she was not able to do so this year and we wanted to help continue her annual tradition! We are thankful to support one of Irene's many acts of kindness.
