Normally on the first Saturday of November, our club hosts our annual Fondue Dance. The night is filled with dancing, enjoying each other's company, and stuffing ourselves full of delicious Swiss cheese and treats. This year, we had to do things a little differently. Though we weren't together in person, we were together in spirit as we shared fondue at home with those closest to us. We hope you and your families are safe and healthy and finding little things to be grateful for during this time.

Each year in June, the members of Swiss Folk Dane Club Alpenrösli have a celebration to finish things off before the summer. We were missing each other dearly without our practices over the last couple months, so we decided to have an outdoor gathering, following social distancing guidelines. The ladies met outside for an evening visit and even managed to practice a little (line) dancing from two metres apart! We are still unable to practice our folk dances and would be p...ausing for the summer now anyways. Check back in late August for updates about practices and performances for the fall. We hope that things will have stabilized enough for us to get back on the dance floor! Wishing you all a lovely, sunny summer!

Der Hinggi is a unique dance. Most Swiss folk dances are done in pairs, whereas Der Hinggi requires groups of three. It is a fun, upbeat dance with some tricky footwork.
