Sara has been working with Swoon for many years now. When I say I am grateful to have her on my team, I mean it! Sara is beyond organized, genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever known, and is a total macguyver on wedding days! I’ve watched her make boutonnières, sew broken zippers and buttons, re-attach eyelashes, fix bouquets, and the list goes on. And yes those are just some of the crazy things that go on behind the scenes on the day of the wedding!! Mokey i...s a big part of the team, even if all she does is look cute and sleep. I had so much fun designing this wedding. My bride wanted something modern and a little edgy, that still had warmth to it. We kept it modern by using all white flowers and crystal, warm with a mushroom coloured linen and gold accents, and brought in the edge with those pops of black! Happy Canada Day! Grateful to live in this wonderful country

It’s Friday and I thought a #fridayintroduction is in order! I wish this is what I’ve looked like over the last few months. Let’s be real - a more accurate picture would be sweatpants, my kitchen table and hair that needed a cut and dye! So happy to have finally gotten my hair done - I think I’m getting closer to this photo being more accurate now! Thanks to everyone following along, and all my new supporters. I’m Alana, the face behind Swoon. Here’s a few fun tidbits abou...t me: 1. I’m already working on ideas for my Halloween costume. Covid will not stop my Halloween obsession, and I will be dressing up! 2. Tacos give me life. So many flavour combinations, they’re one of my fav foods everrr! 3. I’m a superhero junkie, there’s just something so cool about superpowers. I watch a ton of superhero tv shows. One of my friends messages often with a photo of her sons toys, to ask what character it is Bonus Fun Fact: 4. As many of you have seen, I’ve created Tipsy Tuesday. Hello lovelies! Here I am working hard, always ensuring every detail is perfect on the wedding day. I would normally look at this photo and only think about how much I MISS working weddings right now, but instead, I feel GRATEFUL. Seven incredible years with you Time really does fly when you’re having fun! You are my best friend, my rock, my sounding board and my biggest support. Hello! I haven’t shown my face on here in a little while so here it is. How’s everyone doing these days? Getting used to our new normal? I sort of am. I’ve definitely had my ups and downs. As a complete extrovert I am really missing simple things like having friends over (for those that know me this also means I will make a mean charcuterie board and stuff you full of lots of cheese and wine!) Feeding people brings me such pleasure, I think I definitely inherited that from my... Jewish side. As more and more of my weddings keep postponing, I’m saddened to think I won’t be working one for quite some time, but of course we all need to do our part and keep each other safe. To all the brides and grooms out there just remember - love is not cancelled and your special day WILL come! You deserve it! I can’t wait to see your happy faces on your wedding day.
