TO: SWOSDA MEMBERSHIP Friends, the SWOSDA executive has been faced with a decision for the safety of our membership, responding to recommendations regarding the spread of Covid-19 virus. In responding to this unprecedented time, the March 28, 2020 dance in Strathroy is cancelled. Special thanks to Swinging Duos, Strathroy, who have been working already with plans to host on March 28. We all want to return to Strathroy!... Now, it is our time to help respond with proactive action to help reduce the scope of illness, to help flatten the plateau in urgent care, and to take risk away from our membership, family and friends. Although Executive will not be meeting, we will continue to work for our membership. We will continue SWOSDAs work through email and telephone. Plans will be re-developed, working with Tom & Jo Kahnert, to bring the special presentation of "Grow Opportunities for your Club" to fruition. The information that the Kahnerts will present is new, current and it has proven success. We look forward to hosting such an important event in our dancing Association. We trust you know your own club memberships and that you will make the best decisions possible in ensuring a safe environment for your members. For further consideration information from the Ontario Federation of Square and Round Dancing is attached. This time too shall pass and we will have learned much. As some good news that comes through awareness and action to Covid-19, I can share the following. We are in the traditional high period for the flu. Nurses are reporting that flu cases are lower than at any other time in history. The reason? Hand sanitation, cleaning and healthy etiquette is in ACTION. In awareness people are responding and the potential for illness is lowering. Something to think about. Be well, keep in touch and well see you in a square or round soon. Skirts were twirling and toes were tapping as the dancers swirled and twirled with their partners around the floor. It was the South West Ontario Square Dancers Association (SWOSDA) of Squares and Rounds and they were in Underwood on Sunday, April 30th at the Community Centre. They came from across southwest Ontario to fundraise for the 20th Canadian National Convention that will take place in London in July, 2018.

A SWOSDA Monthly Dance was held in New Hamburg on April 22. Thanks to Guys & Dolls for being great hosts
