BREAKING NEWS - Sydney River Fire elves will be taking Santa through the Sydney River coverage area (Weidner Drive to Aspen Grove). We will start on Weidner Drive at approximately 9AM on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6th. (Inclement weather date - Sunday, December 13th). Please stay in your driveway, yard or on the sidewalk. SRFD elves will safely pass out treats while practicing safe social distancing.

This is the weekend to GAIN an hour. Clocks go back at 2am Sunday. More importantly, it is also the time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

As a way to help volunteer fire departments in Nova Scotia do fundraising during these uncertain times of Covid-19, the Amherst Fire Department has started a provincial weekly 50/50 draw. All tickets are sold online to Nova Scotians and participating departments will receive a portion of sales directed at their Department. There is a new draw every Thursday. Weekly jackpots range from $20,000 to $35,000... Sydney River Fire Department will start to be included in Week 6. We hope to have your support.
