The Province is Seeking Commuter Feedback! Earlier this year, the Provincial Government announced funding for the twinning of Highway 11, from Sylvan Lake to Ro...cky Mountain House. This $120-million project is part of Alberta’s Recovery Plan and will create about 582 jobs, while upgrading the highway and improving traffic flow along this important recreation corridor. Part of the project includes enhancing infrastructure at a number of intersections along the route, in order to improve safety concerns, and reduce congestion. These intersections include: Highway 11 and Range Road 15 (Sylvan Lake) Highway 11 and Highway 781 (Sylvan Lake) Highway 11 and Highway 20 (Sylvan Lake) Highway 11 and Burnt Lake Trail (Red Deer County) Highway 11 and Range Road 25A (Benalto) Highway 11 and Highway 766 (Eckville) Alberta Transportation has enlisted the services of McElhanney Engineering to develop and offer to the public, an opportunity to review these important intersections, and to provide feedback based on commuter experiences, ideas, and concerns. An online survey and interactive map is now online for members of the public to access between now and November 30. Input collected will be used to determine short and long-term solutions for each location.
