Well Everyone!! We pulled it off!! Congratulations and Thank You!! It was truly a team effort that could not have succeeded without the incredible the cooperation and patience of a whole lot of people. At the forefront of those people are, the parents (guardians) and students. Although it was not quite the same, we were as close to normal as one could get. As well as the parents and students, Karen and I would like to acknowledge our staff, in particular all our Rovers led b...y our Group Leaders - Brenda, Kate and Thomas - who bore the brunt of the extra burden of the COVID protocols. Also, to maintain ‘cohort ‘protocols, our on ice instructors were placed in unfamiliar roles as part time rovers, and we thank them for that adjustment. Last but not least, ‘Anna Banana’, our off-ice director, who, with as much energy from start to finish, did not miss a shift for seven straight weeks! Also, a big shout out to the NexSource Centre, management and staff, for going the extra mile to make the facility as friendly and normal as possible. Rather than follow ‘budget cut’ models that some centers are using, they went the extra mile with enhanced janitorial and sanitization to ensure that all parents, relatives and/or friends had the opportunity to watch the activities. We all know that we have a ways to go and, at least for the next few months, things will not be the same, but we know for sure we can do at least this and more next summer!
