Not quite what I had in mind when I said I'd help with the pruning yesterday! All 64 "layered in" gewurz came out as after 5 yrs they are non productive (so much for that experiment). Got the knack of the chain after a while.

Nature gives us beautiful surprises sometimes! - this bloom brings a big smile as we welcome in the New Year (and the start of pruning). Best wishes to all for 2021, please stay safe and stay well.

Today is our last day open at the winery store until April. Thanks for the good cheer everyone has given us in this challenging time - it has been good for us! We have really enjoyed being around the store these last weeks and getting out to do deliveries on our beautiful peninsula. We look forward to delivering wine orders for you over the winter :)

New in the winery this week are these lovely locally crafted boards by Andre St. Cyr. (starting at $35). We are happy to package with a selection of all good things local (see our Saanich Pack below), and/or some local island cheeses - we have local crackers too!

New batches of chutney and jams will be on the shelves tomorrow. Look for Sour Cherry Rhubarb Chutney , our Curried Pippin Chutney, and our Sour Cherry Jam - all from our farm fruit . Open 1 - 5 tomorrow and Saturday. Fall colors are glorious - enjoy the drive through Central Saanich. Dan's has a great array of pumpkins and lots of local veggies on hand. Sunwing has just closed for the season gonna miss them!

Should we have sun this weekend - the patios will be open! Open today and tomorrow 1 - 5! We still have Ortega, Gewurz, and Millot on the shelves. Foch sold out yesterday but don't despair - the new release will be next month - stay tuned!

Our favorite walk right now is through the dahlia's at Butcharts ! Great for clearing the head from the ferments and such beauty!

Yesterday brought a new day and some lovely gris to the crush pad. So ends our harvest for 2020. Thanks to all our crew who worked rain or shine to bring it in - we really appreciate that extra effort! :)

Well Wednesday was a pretty bad day overall - the windstorm broke off an end post and collapsed half a row of vines, and the raccoons learned to leap from the trees onto the netting side wires (thus avoiding the electric fence). This one was fast asleep on this pole Wednesday morning, (and it took more than a few swear words to get it off)!

A covid safe crush - Ortega is pressed, and the sweet yeasty smell of the ferment permeates the winery. Thanks for the photo Tracy! We are open today and tomorrow 1 - 5 for wine sales (need wine for Thanksgiving?), delivery, and for enjoying time on the patios - the forecast is for sun all weekend! :)

Lamont caught the sun coming up today as we began our Ortega harvest, (and we caught the sun going down after crush on our way home). Thanks to all the good help on this beautiful harvest day.

Happy to have some sunshine today! Our noir is happy too :) We are open tomorrow 1 - 5, rain or shine, for wine sales, delivery, or just great conversation on the patio!

Pinot is looking pretty but still a few weeks to go. Bring on the sunshine...

Veraison in the Pinot Noir is progressing quickly - you can see the side nets on our Millot fruit behind the Pinot. We've finished top netting the upper vineyard this week and the electric fence is on. Time for a day off !
